Your so much planned and awaited holiday can end up a devastation if ruined by health upsets. What most peoples do if they go food crazy when they reach a new land, but they do not understand their body is less susceptible for a quick change. Thus, to reduce the risk of any such health related problems, you should treat your body with the right supply of food, drink, and other supplements.

Usually, travel sickness is viable for both adult and children. Make sure you and your family avoids heavy meals before traveling. Dairy foods, fruits, or salads are to be avoided, as these can be acidic. Try out some dry foods if you need to eat. Crackers, nuts, or ginger biscuits are few tips. In fact, it has been studies that ginger has a positive effect on motion sickness, thus you can try ginger capsules or ginger sweets if you feel hungry.

If you are flying for a holiday trip, then you should realize that air on the aircraft is much drier than the normal. This increases the risk of dehydration in your body and will in turn let you jet dawdle on a long flight. Try to drink plenty of water before you get flying sick, make sure you do not intake lots of fizzy or hard drinks as they will make you feel even worse.

Along with avoiding dehydration on the flight, you should try to avoid the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). To avoid DVT, you need to intake an omega-3 fatty acid supplement, or similar others available on the pharmacy, a few weeks before your flight. This medicine helps to thin your blood and avoids blood clotting on a DVT situation.

WARNING – if you are already taking aspirin or other blood thinning drugs, then you should consult your doctor before taking DVT fighting pills.

Long haul flights are usually boring, and most try alcohol to get them a sleep during the flight. It is advised not to drink to much of alcohol or caffeine, but in fact try to stick to some herbal tea and of course q lot of water to have a healthy trip.

Choosing to eat certain foods are quite a hard decision during a long flight, thus out body tends to lean on what we like rather than what we should. Eating carbohydrate food like pasta, plain rice, or bread helps to increase Serotonin production in the brain that helps you to get asleep. Eating protein rich foods like chicken or fish does the opposite as it makes you sit up right and alert.

Most people traveling abroad suffer from travelers diarrhea. Thus they have to take close attention on what they eat, keeping plain food as their default wherever possible. If you think you are going to fall under this distressing condition, help yourself with some probiotic supplement. Drink probiotic yoghurt daily fro a couple of days before traveling.

You cannot predict the weather circumstances on the new land you are stepping in, thus you should intake the proper food supplements to help you prevent sun damages to skin cells. Many researches have shown that Selenium found in Brazil nuts, beta-carotene found in carrots and lycopene found in tomatoes helps to protect skin from the inside and avoid skin cell damage due to weather changes.

If you are going on a hot sunny land, prickly heat can make your holiday a miserable one. Choose antihistamines like quercetin found in apples, peas, and cherries. Quercetin ha found to help you with allergic reactions that cause prickly heat.

Be aware of getting sunstroke. If you get headache and dizziness in the first few days of holiday just because you took a sunny afternoon walk, it is the fist signs of some serious trouble. But do not panic, rest in a cool place and drink plenty of water.

Mosquitoes are the welcoming hosts in most of the adventurous places you visit. Most love to help the mosquitoes have a tasty dinner letting the mosquitoes suck on their blood, as these intelligent people have tried on some garlic or vitamin B supplement. The best way to avoid mosquito bites is to use a strong insect repellent.
